2019 Entlefest

We were pleased and excited when the 2019 Entlefest and National Specialty was scheduled for the Wine Country cluster in New York, as this show has always been a favorite of ours, being held at arguably one of the most beautiful sites in the Northeast.  This year's show certainly did not disappoint, and we lucked out with great weather for most of the weekend.  The National Specialty/Entlefest Committee did a great job organizing the event and everything flowed smoothly and was very enjoyable for exhibitors.

We started our week off with the CEBA (Comprehensive Entlebucher Breed Assessment) on Thursday, which provided an intriguing array of tests for our Entles.  Sherlock and Watson switched over to the breed ring that afternoon, where Sherlock won Best of Breed and Best of Breed Owner Handled, and Watson did great for her first-ever show being recognized as Winners Bitch.  Sherlock went on to have a successful group exhibition, earning a Herding Group 4 and an Owner Handled Group 3.

Friday began nice and early and excitement was high as the National was about to begin.  The Best of Breed competition was full of beautiful specimens and Sherlock was showing beautifully.  After some very thorough judging, the judge pulled Sherlock out in front!  We were elated as she announced Sherlock as the 2019 National Specialty Best of Breed Winner.  We spent the next few hours on cloud nine as we waited for groups.  The groups brought about more success as we earned another Herding Group 4 and Owner Handled Group 1.

We were sure nothing could top Friday but Saturday tried hard to do just that.  After winning the breed for the third time, Sherlock went on to win Best in Show Owner Handled

Sunday continued to pack on the blessings,, as Watson went Best of Opposite Sex (over specials)to earn her first major!  Sherlock pulled off a clean sweep of the breed for all four days and went on to a lovely Reserv Best in Show Owner Handled.

We are so thankful for the amazingly successful weekend we had.  It was all thanks to the dedicted club members who poured their hard work into creating a fabulous show, the wonderful judges who spent time learning about our breed and some very special dogs.
